Monthly and Weekly In-Person Yoga classes
Monthly Yin Yoga
Join Kalyani Nicole at Sound and Yoga in Portland, Maine for a Monthly Yin Yoga class!
Tuesdays, November 18th and December 16th mark the start of monthly in-person Yin Yoga classes at Sound and Yoga, located at 128 Cassidy Point Drive, 2nd Floor, Portland, Maine.
These first two classes will focus on supporting ourselves during the bustle of the coming Holiday season.
As the Holiday season quickly approaches, our lives often become a whirlwind of to-dos, social gatherings, and a pace that can leave us feeling depleted before the festivities even begin. We often get so caught up in the outward giving that we forget to nurture our inner selves.
This practice is an invitation to pause, to step away from the hustle, and to offer yourself the gift of deep rest.
We’ll be moving through a series of foundational Yin yoga postures, focusing on stillness, breath, and the present moment rather than muscle engagement. In Yin, we hold poses for several minutes at a time, allowing gravity and time to gently stretch the deeper connective tissues—our fascia, ligaments, and joints. This practice isn't about doing more; it’s about being more present.
Kalyani will guide you to listen to your body throughout the class. We will use props as needed to find your comfortable edge, and remember that stillness is our goal. No previous yoga experience is necessary.
Our intention for this session is simple: to help you find a sense of balance, relaxation, and profound rejuvenation. By cultivating this inner calm, you are better equipped to navigate the external demands of the season with grace and a full heart.
Yoga and Sound studio is on the second floor, and involves navigating stairs. Kindly keep this in mind if you have any physical movement challenges.

Class energy exchange is $25. All props and mats are provided.
Weekly Yoga
Join Kalyani Nicole at Gather Wellness in Lyman, Maine, for Weekly Yoga classes!
Wednesdays, starting January 7th, 2026, join Kalyani for weekly in-person Mindful Chair Yoga and Mixed-Levels Hatha Yoga classes at Gather Wellness, located at 1 South Waterboro Rd, Lyman, Maine.
Mindful Chair Yoga classes offer gentle, accessible movement and breath awareness practiced primarily from a seated position, often with the option to use the chair back for balance. It blends simple stretches, joint mobilization, breathwork, and short moments of guided meditation to support mobility, reduce tension, and cultivate present-moment attention. The pace is slow and intentional, suitable for beginners, older adults, people with limited mobility, or anyone seeking a low-impact, calming practice.
Mixed-Levels Hatha Yoga classes start with a centering and breathwork, followed by a traditional Hatha yoga asana (postures) series. We will cultivate a deeper connection with our inner “knowing” as we practice breathwork and postures together. From Sanskrit, the language most ancient texts on Yoga use, “Ha” is related to the Sun and “Tha” to the Moon. These are two of the main energies we hold within our energy bodies, each with its own attributes. However, as we navigate life, these two energies can become imbalanced. Hatha yoga recognizes this and meets the student where they are. The practice of Hatha yoga works to return our bodies to balance between the solar and lunar energies within, leaving us feeling more grounded and clear.
Mindful Mixed-levels Hatha yoga class will offer alignment cues, hands-on assists (if desired), and posture modifications to meet the needs of differing practice levels from beginner to experienced! Classes will also introduce Sanskrit terms in honor of the tradition of yoga, and will weave yoga philosophy into our practice to further enhance your connection to your own inner “knowing” and Light.
Gather Wellness is a beautiful, new wellness center in the heart of Lyman, Maine. While 20 minutes from Scarborough, this center is reached through a calming and beautiful country drive.
